Can I use YouGov Platform on my website / proposal / billboard / homework?

Sure. Help yourself to the free version. Attribution to YouGov, accurate citation and a link back is all we ask. This means that when you quote us, you will need to ensure that you are not manipulating or distorting the information we provide. YouGov is a registered trademark of YouGov plc.

You may not:

  • remove, obscure or modify any copyright or other notices included in YouGov Platform nor any metadata or digital rights management intelligence that may be associated with YouGov Platform; nor
  • systematically scrape, crawl, harvest, retrieve or otherwise gather by electronic means any data or other content to copy, create, acquire or compile - directly or indirectly, in single or multiple downloads - a collection, compilation, database, directory or similar; nor
  • use YouGov Platform to create a derivative work, product or service which infringes the Intellectual Property Rights of YouGov or its licensors, is a commercially competitive work, product or service or part thereof which competes with or could be substituted for a work, product or service provided by YouGov.

YouGov retains all intellectual property rights in YouGov Platform content comprising:

  • the database of content built, operated and maintained by YouGov (“YouGov Database”) containing data gathered from members of panels, survey groups and focus groups maintained by YouGov comprising questions put to these members and their replies; and all other data and materials of whatsoever nature in the YouGov Database from time to time, including but not limited to, summary charts, tables, datasets, data analysis and reports; and any software, platform or website and made available by YouGov for accessing YouGov Platform.

YouGov grants to the user a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use the YouGov Platform content as available from time to time only to the extent that such use is necessary to use YouGov Platform as permitted under this Website Terms & Conditions of Use.

YouGov retains all intellectual property rights in YouGov Platform content comprising:

You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programmes and platform to access our site. You should use your own virus protection software.

You must not misuse our site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site, the server on which our site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our site. You must not attack our site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack. By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use our site will cease immediately.
